The Spanish Arbequina olive is small in size but big in flavour. Notably, these round Spanish gems can be anywhere from pink to burnt orange in colour, adding some interesting colour to cheeseboards and antipasto spreads. The Arbequina olive is cured in a natural sea salt brine for one to two months that creates a pleasingly fruity and buttery olive, rich and flavourful for its small size. It’s texture is firm and meaty. Pair these small fruity olives with tangy goat cheese or feta, dried figs, pears and almonds.
You’ll also find Spagnia Brand Mixed Spanish olives at BOSA Foods, combining the Arbequina olive along with several other varieties including the Spanish Queen Olive known for its large size and pimento filling and the Manzanilla olive, the straw-coloured, plump, and meaty olive most commonly stuffed and used in cocktails – but delicious on their own as well!
